This Little Act
A Thank You Note to Running.
This little act of running has made my life so rich. It has given me so much - and all it asks of me is my time.
The act of sharing miles with those who were initially strangers has led to the development of beautiful friendships and strong professional networks. Running has made me a national marathon champion (much to my surprise), an accidental runfluencer, and last week even brought me an Emmy Award. All this for someone who didn’t start running until their early 40s.
So, if you’ve been thinking about getting out there, let this be your prompt to start. Because I promise you one thing - you won’t regret it once you do.
Happy Global Running Day!
And with this note, take it as a sign that the running substack may be making a slow comeback - just as I intend to do with my marathon running (which I technically retired from in April 2025).
Run Your Life. The moments in the miles are temporary - the meanings are for life.
